Favorite stops in Lake Tahoe in summer

Tahoe is a very popular winter spot for skiing and skateboarding. However, there are a lot of summer activities as well. We go to Tahoe at least twice every summer. This is to share some of the things we like to do while driving around the lake.

Emerald Bay

Classic viewpoint for taking those instagram worthy shots. Usually gets very crowded so there’s not much to do except taking pictures and enjoying the view. I find it too touristy, and prefer Eagle falls and Logan shoals better as those are less crowded.

Parasailing

We did Parasailing with Tahoe Sports Ski Run Boat Company. There are tons of great options.

Bonfire

There are designated fire pits all around the lake. Most of them cost around $10 for day use parking. Lots of shops in both North and South lake to buy food, wood and coal.

Kayaking

The green shade of water looks wonderful in summers. A lot of beaches have kayak rentals by the hour or day.

Eagle Falls

A short hike that can take an hour or two round trip. Great views!

Logan Shoals

A vista point with a narrow trail that goes to the beach.

There are lots of other activities like Jet Ski and biking as well. Also if you have extra time, a trip to Fallen leaf lake and Angora Creek as well is worth the extra drive.
